Painting Supplies

When you sign up for the class you will be instructed to purchase the Fine Art Class kit. The kit includes 4 tubes of Grumbacher Academy acrylic paint. The 4 colors are Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Medium Yellow, Cadmium Medium Red, and Titanium White. These colors are good basic colors to have, however, these colors limit you from creating certain colors. The Kit also includes a pallet knife, 3 brushes, and a 9 X 12 canvas. The paint brushes are ok but since we are working with such a small canvas i would recommend also purchasing a thinner brush for any fine details you might want in your painting. I also recommend that you play around with your painting supplies a bit before coming to class so you are at least somewhat familiar with the products.

Welcome to the Class !!!

Thank you so much for Signing up for the Michaels Fine Art Workshop! As of now the Classes will be 2 hours long and Focus on 1 of 4 topics; Landscape, Seascape, Floral, and Still Life. The goal at the end of each class is to have the knowledge to complete a beautiful painting. The Expectation is to have a completed painting at the end of the class. However from my experience, a proper painting is almost impossible to complete in 2 hours especially if you are just starting to learn. Plus, painting is supposed to be a relaxing and enjoying time, not something that should be rushed. It is my hope that you will find this blog helpful to prepare you and fallow up with your workshop.
